The Infant Mental Health Committee (IMC)

Overview

The Infant Mental Health Committee (IMC), a division of the Emirates Society for Child and Adolescent Mental Health and an affiliate of WAIMH, is a leading group of mental health and health care professionals based in the UAE. Our mission is to promote the mental well-being and healthy development of infants and young children. We recognize the importance of cultural, regional, and environmental contexts in shaping child development, and we are dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge to improve care and outcomes for young children.

VISION

We envision a future where the mental health and development of infants and young children are at the forefront of societal priorities. By integrating evidence-based practices with cultural sensitivity, we aim to foster a collaborative community of professionals dedicated to supporting the well-being of children across the UAE.

MISSION

IMC is committed to addressing the unique and vital needs of infants by providing both parents and professionals with practical, evidence-based information on topics such as infant assessment, early intervention, and prevention. Through training, workshops, conferences, and research, we empower individuals to make a lasting impact on infant mental health. Additionally, we strive to elevate national standards of practice by establishing clinical guidelines and fostering professional development for mental health providers working with young children
