The Emirates Society for Child and Adolescent Mental Health is a professional society composed of child and adolescent psychiatrists and mental health professionals in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is established under the Emirates Medical Association (EMA) and abides by its internal rules and regulations. It aims to unite national efforts in order to advance clinical services, research and education pertaining to child and adolescent mental health in the UAE.
VISION & MISSION:
The Emirates Society for Child and Adolescent Mental Health aims to promote the mental health of children, adolescents and their families in the UAE. The following are fundamental values of the society:
- Mental Health Promotion: Raise the national standard for child mental healthcare services by establishing national clinical child mental health guidelines and activities that promote mental health.
- Education and Training: Organize educational activities that raise the awareness in the field of child and adolescent mental health among UAE professionals and the public.
- Collaboration&Networking: Establish a strong national network in which child and adolescent mental health professionals can work under. Collaborate with national, regional and international organizations related to child mental health, in order to advance child mental health in the UAE. This includes research pertinent to this field.
- Excellence in clinical care: Provide the best evidence-based standards of child and adolescent mental health care, and promote the implementation of these guidelines.
